Guitar warm up exercise #1

Here’s a simple warm up exercise to get your fingers moving.  It’s fairly common, but here’s the way I play it.

Skills String skipping
Alternate picking
General warm up

Start slow with this one, after a while you’ll be able to speed up.  Cycle through it 3 or 4 times, or as much as you’re comfortable.  I often start with this before I play, it’s easy to remember and a good way to loosen up as you have to concentrate a bit. I don’t particularly focus on picking with this exercise, though I do tend to alternate pick when doing it.
